Career summary

Present position: Software engineer specialised in network and telecommunication development in both individual and
team projects (Since October 1996 : Philog - 35 people company).
Three years of significant experience in creating design documents, developping software and testing management
in the telecommunication industry.

Main Projects

Schlumberger - Mobile solutions department (June 1998 - present)
Position: validation manager in a R&D team with 15 engineers.
For the OTAC project (platform for customizing GSM SIM cards over the air), created and managed the overall
integration and validation plan. Established and processed test plan. Defined procedures to automate tests and
assisted in the settings of performance benchs. In charge of implementation of validation tools using Object
Oriented and ORB technology.
Context:Methodology ISO9001; NT 4.0, HP UX; Corba (Visibroker); Oracle V7; GSM norms 11.11; SIM cards.
Languages: Java, C++.

Feasability study for OTAC project: designed and developed a demonstration software (GUI and protocols) to download over the air Java applets on GSM smart cards. This software was presented with success to important cellular service provider over the world. (3 sofware engineers - 1.5 month).
Context: Windows NT 4.0, Sybase, Windows GUI, Socket, Multi-threading.
Languages: C++ (Visual Studio), Embeded SQL.

SFR (GSM operator) / Interact Systemes(4 months: January-April 1998, 3 months: August-October 1997)
Position : Software engineer.
Developed general and detailed design documents to implement a secure gateway setting up internet and X.25 access
for GSM subscribers. In charge of implemanting the gateway, system testing, support during acceptance testing and
installation. Presented training sessions for customer care and gateway management. The gateway runs on SUN UNIX
machines and manages the subscriber database (Cisco secure), SFR domain with LDAP, and routing rules on CISCO routers.
The service opens in January 1999 and manages more than 10,000 subscribers. (2 engineers).
Context: UNIX Solaris 2.3, Oracle V7 (CISCO Secure), X.25, PAD,CISCO CS3640, AS5200, LDAP, SIMS.
Languages: C, IPC, PRO-C, Client/Server, Lex & Yacc, Korn Shell.

SNCF (French railway company)/ SJT ( 2 months: November/December 1997)
Position: software engineer.
Designed an information server responding to SNCF phone servers requests using a database containing railways incidents.
Assisted in the design of the database model. Implementation of the gateway using a Client/Server technology.
Designed and processed validation plan. Provided support during acceptance testing and installation. The system enabled
to offer a very relevant service to SNCF users, so that today this gateway receives web requests and will be extended to
manage new services. (1 engineer).
Context: Windows NT 4.0, SQL server 6.5, TCP/IP (WSA socket), Windows GUI, multi-threading.
Languages: C++ (Visual studio), C, Embeded SQL, Client/Server.

Schlumberger/France Telecom ( 2 months: March/April 1997)
Position: software enginner.
Developed designs for a system managing remote configuration of public phones (use of a X.25 link). Assisted in defining
the requirements. Implementation of the system using a X.25 stack and a real-time monitor. Organized validation procedures
and provided support during installation. This tool was successfuly used by Schlumberger to set and test new pay public phones
before their deployment. (1 engineer).
Context: DOS, X.25, real time monitor.
Languages: C.

EDF (French electricity company) (3 months: December 1996/February 1997)
Position: software enginner
Designed and managed port of a telecommunication gateway (X.25/TCP-IP/HNZ) from an UNIX Bull (DPX 20) environment
to an IBM AIX 4.2 environment. Managed and processed the no-regressions tests. (2 engineers).
Context: UNIX AIX 4.2 (Risc 6000), X.25, TCP/IP, HNZ, Client/Server.
Languages: C, IPC, Korn Shell.

French Department of Education( 1 month: November 1996, 1 month: July 1997)
Position : software engineer
Assisted in defining a system to automate procedures of storage and analysis of data files to process statistics. Developed
detailed design and implementation of the system using an Oracle database. Developped and processed the validation plan.
The process is totally automated and more secure.
Context: SOLARIS 2.3, Oracle V.7, FTP.
Languages: C, PRO-C (SQL), Korn-shell.

Soule( electrical material constructor) (6 months: April/September 1995, 1 month: June 1997)
